The origin of the name

                                                   
         The hippies of Belo Horizonte were from time to time in the city center to sell their crafts, locals nicknamed the place hippy fair sales due to products sold typical hippie culture and most vendors also. Currently, due to the tax rates and facility rental many left the scene for not being able to pay a license to use, since most of them are homeless, now sellers are traders of various local crafts that make joining fashion trends crafts.

Hippie Fair and their importance





  
       The Arts and Crafts Fair from Afonso Pena Avenue, popularly known as Feira Hippie, is one of the most popular attractions in Belo Horizonte, founded in 1969, today it completed about forty-three years old. The Fair is a shopping center of various products, such as arts, jewelry, toys, bags, shoes, furniture, clothing, food and more. The Fair has several sums, primarily economic, such as the generation of 11 thousand jobs directly. The Hippie Fair is considered one of the largest in Latin America, with about 2500 'tents' that are passed on from father to son, in addition, the Fair receives approximately about 100 thousand people every Sunday when it is open.
       To better enjoy the Fair, it is recommended you arrive there until around 8 o'clock in the morning, a time when the movement is already intense. Some sites listed for hosting tourists are the hotels: Othon Palace, Bristol Merit, Best Western Sol, they are located near the place where the Hippie Fair is held.
